What do protected, wild places mean in the 21st century? What is our obligation to care for and conserve space, especially in the West? Who feels welcome in our country's national parks, and how do young generations develop a sense of responsibility and wonder in these places?

Join USU Alternative Breaks as we spend a week assisting National Parks staff with conservation efforts, exploring the South Rim, and learning about the history and significance of this National Park.

Service will include cleaning bus stops at scenic overlooks and cleaning fire pits at Mather Campground. Be prepared to spend the whole work day (8 hours) outdoors.
Accommodations will be in National Park Service volunteer housing, but each participant will need to bring sleeping bags and pads and towels.
For those who apply by January 25, payment will be due February 8 and will include the $25 discount. After January 25, if there is still room on the trip, students may continue to apply. Payment for late applications will be due by February 22.
